How do they do it?
How well do you balance your work / life?
It seems that even though many employers have put in place flexible working policies and options, many employees are not making the most of them which on the surface seems mad.
Recent research from Working Families*, a charity dedicated to improving the lot of parents who work, have found that many employers have still not woken up to the business benefits of family friendly flexibility and even where they have there is still a barrier to staff actually taking up one of the options …
“…more staff would rather leave a job than address the issues of work life balance etc. with their Boss …”
Take my quiz now or print down and do later - how many do you tick "yes" to?
- you like to please
- you like to say yes
- you find it hard to say "No" at work and within relationships
- you like others to tell you you have done a good job
- you could manage your time better!
- you don't set many goals for your life - if any
- you avoid confrontation
- you get stressed when you are unable to avoid confrontation and get stuck in the feelings - i.e. not many choices
- you don't think you are really worth it
Score:
- 4 or less:
- I doubt you have too many issues here, you may like to work on the areas that got ticks and contact me for details of my half and half program.
- Over 4:
- Hmmm I bet you struggle with pleasing others at your expense. Face to face full program available for you.
OK so what did the people have in common who were good "jugglers"
- they didn't need to please others to feel good about themselves
- they make like to say "Yes" but didn't do it to please someone at their own expense
- they said "No" and then got on with life!
- they knew inside when they had done a good job - they could feel it
- they valued and planned their time
- they set goals - goals which made their lives happier and more fulfilled
- they would not avoid confrontation
- when they got stressed they quickly saw choices
- they believed they were worth it and they "could do it"
I have used this information to design a four session coaching program
- Session 1
- Assessing where you currently are in your life so we both understand your realities
- Session 2
- Your Goals and what's really important to you - setting compelling goals that really fire you up
- Session 3
- Clearing out whatever is stopping you moving on and adding new "resources"
- Session 4
- Final session for installing new goals and behaviors etc at a deeper level

This is the outcome of my recent research I undertook as part of my Master Practitioner in NLP.
I modelled those who are excellent and those who were not so good, to find out what is the difference that makes the difference… and seeing as we all have the same neurology; if one person can do something, it is possible to model it and teach it to others
